Our Love-Hate Relationship with Plastic webinar
September 22, 2020 –
Join this free online event to learn about current research into plastic, the types found on our coast, and plastics we could live without.
Plastic has become a dirty word, but we use it everywhere in our lives. It’s in the mattresses we sleep on, in the tools in the kitchen and our cars drip with it. Not to mention what our food is wrapped in, and the clothing we wear. I have been investigating how much plastic washes up on the beaches of the south coast. I have also been considering plastics other than single-use plastic. I have identified Frivolous, Cryptic and Dumb (FCD) plastic categories that we consume, but could easily do without. I will discuss these categories and what you can do to reduce your dependence on them.
This free event will be hosted on Zoom and led by Harriet Paterson (UWA-Albany).
The talk will start at 7pm, however we encourage attendees to log into Zoom between 6.30-6.50pm so that everyone has time for troubleshooting prior to starting. Places are limited, please register for a ticket in order to receive further details on joining this talk.
