Introduction to Permaculture at Perth City Farm
Perth City Farm1 City Farm PlaceEast Perth,Join local permaculture expert Rod Hughes to learn about permaculture from the soil up in this introductory class exclusive to Perth City Farm.
Permaculture is an approach to designing landscapes which mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food, fibre and energy for local needs
This will be the perfect grounding for our two-day Introduction to Permaculture course in August. All this is set in the grounds of Perth City Farm, non-profit community environmental centre that provides space and opportunities to cultivate connection, and educates and enables all of us to live sustainably with nature.
Meet Rod
Rod has worked nearly three decades in environmental management. In recent years he has turned his attention to permaculture learning and how this system of thinking can create new and critical connections between people, the environment and the food we eat. Rod has completed a Permaculture Design Certificate, Advanced Permaculture Design Certificate and Diploma of Permaculture and uses these skills as the Farm Manager at Perth City Farm. Rod’s motto is “be nice and grow things” and believes that being kind to each other, looking after mother earth and ensuring fair share is critical to our survival.Introduction to Permaculture at Perth City Farm–

BeaconsfieldPart- time Permaculture Design Course (PDC) starting Wed 20 July 2022. - every Wednesday until 21 September 2022 9am to 5pm
Permaculture incorporates plants, animals, landscape, buildings, soil, local climate, and building community, and creates a design for these to work together creating a system that is self-sustaining or with minimal input.

North Fremantle Community Hall2 Thompson RdNorth Fremantle,This Plastic Free July, join CCWA for our next Environment Matters forum!
We’ll be exploring what a sustainable waste management system looks like for WA and learning more about inspiring community-led waste initiatives contributing to climate action.
We’ll be starting the event with a tour of North Fremantle Social Farm led by resident farmer Amy Warne - a local example of a community initiative using organic and regenerative farming principles to grow food.
We’ll then be hearing from four leading waste experts about the creative and interesting examples of community-led initiatives that have begun to fill the gaps in local government policies and contribute to climate action at the same time.
This is a free event and light refreshments will be provided.
