Skilled volunteers will help you with repairs of clothing, textiles, bikes, furniture, jewellery, electronics which run on batteries (below mains power), general household items. We'll have computer triage and advice on creating an eco-friendly home. If you're unsure, bring it down and we'll see what we can do!
Repair Lab is a free, family friendly community event for people to bring along their broken items to be fixed, with the help of our skilled volunteers. - -

Kevin Smith from The Worm Shed presents on all aspects of worm farming and the role worms play in recycling and waste management. This is followed by a demonstration of setting up and maintaining a worm farm.
Residents and ratepayers of the City of Swan are entitled to a $115 subsidy on an advanced worm farm set-up or a $50 subsidy on 1kg of worms, both of which will be available for purchase on the day.

Claremont area Buy Nothing groups are involved with a gifting and sharing table and will be promoting the local Lending Library run by them.

As an inspirational speaker, for more than 10 years, Rebecca has captivated audiences as a speaker and panelist at conferences and events across the globe. She educates, inspires and challenges her audience to change their relationship with plastic and question our consumer culture.
She has the ability to break down how society needs to rethink our response to the waste crisis and identify the role of citizens, business and government.
Rebecca has a way of inspiring change through small steps, which in-turn can have significant results. Audiences walk away knowing they can take responsibility and actionable steps. They’re empowered to make real change – in the face of plastic pollution.

There are simple ways to significantly reduce waste that ends up in landfill and consequent damage to the environment.
Throughout the workshop you will look at:

Recycle Right Rangers: Introductory Workshop

The Recycle Right Rangers is a volunteer group under the umbrella of the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council’s ‘Recycle Right’ Education Program working to encourage and assist residents and businesses in Western Australia to recycle, reduce their waste and live more sustainably.
Members of the Recycle Right Rangers volunteer at community events, tours, school incursions and educational workshops all over Perth. You’ll get the opportunity to join exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of waste and recycling facilities, provide feedback on the Recycle Right waste education material, attend quarterly workshops, gain a ‘Working with Children Check’ card, and receive valuable experience working with the community and school children on waste education.
The introductory workshop will include a tour of the RRRC, 'get to know you ' activities, waste education training, a presentation on the program, upcoming opportunities and all the perks of being a Ranger. Morning tea is provided.
