Not a farm exactly, this acre of delightful garden is home to a very unique Strawbale house. Both, house and garden pay homage to living simply and sustainably. Choosing to visit this oasis of charm will be sure to inspire you and ignite your creative juices. Included in your ticket purchase is a tour of the house and garden with a short talk on its construction, then wonder through the unique blend of native and mediterannean plantings, and take a short walk to the top of the property where you can soak up the breathtaking views of John Forrest National park.
Finish your visit by finding a shady nook to enjoy a cuppa, with a choice of delicious homemade slices and biscuits. This day is all about indulging the senses- with meaning and purpose. Your contribution will go directly to two very worthy charitable organizations, Connies Care- a grass roots social enterprise caring for Children in need in Southern Africa AND Trillion Trees - WA based revegitation group.

Worm Farming Workshop
Coogee Community HallWorms are a great way to convert your kitchen waste into fertiliser. They convert the waste into both liquid fertiliser and castings that are great for plants. You will learn all about the art of worm farming with a hands-on demonstration.
This workshop is part of the Home Waste Compost Subsidy program. You can purchase a subsidised worm farm for $95 at the workshop or simply join us to learn more about recycling organic waste at home. Don't forget to bring proof of address in the City of Cockburn e.g. driver's license or utility bill.

You'll come away with the knowledge of:
How to conduct soil tests - pH test and bolus and ribbon tests and a jar test
Understanding minerals and nutrients and their relationships to your plant health
Learn which plants to grow to help improve soil and remedies for gutless sand
Learn how to increase soil fauna to help improve your soil
Please bring a jar of your soil to test, we will be using a chemical pH test kit and handling soils.____________

Join us in our first Community Swap Party to exchange spare seeds, seedlings and plant cuttings with your fellow community members.
This event is for adults, bookings are essential as places are limited.
Important: Please arrive at the venue between 10am and 10:30am to ensure that the swapping starts promptly at 10.30am.
FAQs
What can I swap? Spare seeds (please ensure they are bagged and accurately labelled, seedlings (home grown or spare ones from what you have bought at Bunnings, please ensure they are labelled), and small to medium sized plant cuttings. We ask that participants do not bring along large quantities of items with them as space is limited.How does the swap work?
Each item will be exchanged for a token (1 pack of seeds = 1 token, 1 seedling or small bunch of seedlings = 1 token). Tokens can then be exchanged for an item in the swap. When you register your items on arrival please advise staff if your items are grouped or not.If two or more people want the same item then this will be decided by either a game of paper, scissors, rock or by drawing a name out of a hat.
10am - 10.30pm - Participants arrive, sign in, and register items.
10.30am - Swapping begins! Participants are invited to peruse the items on display and can begin exchanging tokens for items. Please ensure you abide by social distancing measures. Hand in tokens to staff when you have selected an item.
12.00pm - Swapping ends. If what you brought to swap didn't get exchanged then please take it home with you.
12.30pm - End of the party! until next time.

Online Worm Farm Workshop
Online EventCity of Kwinana residents can purchase a fully established Worm Farm package (including worms) at a subsidised price of $100.00. The Worm Cafe package is valued at $235.00. Proof of residency is required and the packages are limited to a total of 30. Only one package can be purchased per household.
The Worm Farm Packages will be delivered to your home address by the Worm Shed (contactless delivery) once you have completed the online workshop and payment has been received by the City of Kwinana.
Worms are a great way to convert your kitchen waste into fertiliser. They convert the waste into both liquid fertiliser and castings that are great for plants.
You will learn all about the art of worm farming with an online presentation covering all aspects of worms, worm farming and the roles worms play in recycling and waste management. The webinar presentation will be provided by Kevin from The Worm Shed.
It is highly recommended that you register in Zoom prior to the workshop as Zoom will send an email with a link to ‘Join’ the webinar.
Please note that only 30 worm farm packages are available.

Kitchen Garden and Growing in Containers: Seed to Feed
Mundaring Wellness Centre16 Craig StMundaring,In this workshop participants will be shown how to create seed raising soil, sow seeds, nurture seedlings, transplant seedlings and grow container vegetable gardens. We will also discuss composting and how to brew fermented liquid compost tea.
Charles Snelleksz-Mathelot is an eco-spiritualist, researcher, educator, Co-creative Natural farmer, food alchemist, Earth poet and Earth song man. He has years of experience working with Earth consciousness to assist people to strengthen their connection with the Earth and our environment.
Charles has spent years understanding the difference between living soil and dead soil, and how soil health impacts the health and quality of food. He also spent years studying and researching the connection between soil and the living gut and why eating local is best for optimal health of the body biome.
On his family urban farm, Charles and his partner Christel, welcome the abundance of wild edibles (weeds) and see them as free food and tonics for both the garden and for gut health.
