Wicking Bed Workshop - Save water and grow the best lettuce on the street!
October 3, 2020 –
Environment House
125 King William St
Bayswater,
Robyn, from Waste Is My Resource, will show you the principle of making a wicking bed by using a waste product....a polystyrene foam vegetable box. You will be able to adapt these basic principles to larger containers of your choice.
Wicking beds save water by preventing evaporation. They also allow plants, like delicate salad greens, to wick (draw up) water at will from a reservoir of water at the base of the foam box.
Tickets $15
This event is in a presentation format rather than a hands on format to allow space and distancing for our participants.
