Nature Journaling Workshop
May 13, 2021 –
Take some time out for yourself to cultivate curiosity and deepen your connection with the natural world through the practice of nature journaling.
Through observation and wonder, nature journaling allows you to express creativity using words, pictures and numbers. You will develop a nourishing connection with nature which is known to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Nature journaling encourages a growth mindset by forming new neural pathways through learning new skills and rewiring the brain.

The group will gather at the environmental centre in Star Swamp Reserve which is a declared Bush Forever site featuring tuart, jarrah, marri and banksia woodlands. On arrival, you will be invited to switch off your phone to allow yourself to be fully present.
πWe will commence the workshop with a guided meditation to engage the senses and tune in to the rhythms of nature.
πFollowing meditation we will take a gentle wander with nature to notice, inspire creativity or just be.
πThen you will be encouraged to allow your creativity to flow through a series of guided nature journaling activities.
πThere will be opportunities for insight, through reflection and discussion with others.
πThe nature journaling workshop will conclude with afternoon tea.
You will be guided by Belinda, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, Meditation Facilitator and environmental scientist. Belinda, through her own nature journaling practise, has developed a profound connection with nature and a greater awareness that we are part of something greater than ourselves.
