Intro to Permaculture Design
September 19, 2020 –
This interactive and inspiring talk/ demonstration will give a brief introduction to permaculture and how we can use permaculture thinking in our homes, gardens and lives generally. We will look at permaculture ethics, design principles and some key ways grow good food, and to retrofit the way we live.
Permaculture is a way of thinking about and designing systems of living based on the ethics of care for the earth, care for people and sharing resources. It aims to learn from nature to allow us all to have abundant and connected lives, while restoring - rather than depleting - life supporting ecosystems. Permaculture informs what we do at City Farm, so for this session your Instructor and Farm Manager Rod will get you out in the City Farm garden to put some of these ideas into practice.
All equipment and materials are provided. This talk will be delivered to comply with current government health advice, maintaining distance between participants and good hygiene. Please bring your own pen and water bottle.
All this is set in the grounds of Perth City Farm, non-profit community environmental centre that provides space and opportunities to cultivate connection, and educates and enables all of us to live sustainably with nature.
