Ex-Bo at Manning: Black-Out Poetry
October 10, 2020 –
Join Perth creatives Kat Scarff and Louise Monday for a series of exciting craft workshops at Manning Library.
Kat will guide you in creating with nature with Natural Object Wall Hangings and Natural Prints and Mark Making sessions while Louise will show you how to reuse old magazines and books with Black-Out Poetry and Trash.O.rigami workshops.
Black-Out Poetry is a form of found poetry which uses a marker to erase words from an existing piece of text – the remaining words form a poem. Black-Out Poetry is an interesting way to discover the creativity present in everyday language, and a great way to reuse and recycle old text. Join Louse Monday for a discussion on day-to-day waste reduction and how to upcycle at home as you discover and create Black-Out Poetry.
Finished pieces from the Ex-Bo event series will be displayed in the Manning Exhibition Boxes in December 2020 and January 2021.
All sessions are free but bookings are essential.
