Environment Matters: The Road to a Nuclear Free Future for WA
August 25, 2021 –
This event will focus on the Mineral Policy Institute and CCWA report, Beyond Uranium Mining: The Road to a Nuclear Free Future for WA.
Uranium mining and exploration sites present a unique threat to communities, the environment and human health.
The latest report by the Mineral Policy Institute and CCWA provides a blueprint for managing the risks associated with uranium mining while providing new hope and real opportunities to protect Western Australia from the threat of uranium mining in a lasting and meaningful way.
Join us for this free event at the State Library of Western Australia, where we will hear from our expert speakers about the four proposed uranium mines in WA and the current approvals, the rehabilitation requirements for the existing uranium exploration sites and the move to legislate a ban on all uranium mining.
This event will highlight the powerful and sustained story of resistance, and the depth, connection and continuity of support for communities at the forefront of these proposed uranium projects.
Venue: State Library of Western Australia - Great Southern Room
Light refreshments will be provided.
