Creatures of the Night
October 29, 2021 –
See the animals of Herdsman Lake from a very different perspective at a unique night-time event at the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre in the lead up to Halloween! Be prepared to be fascinated as we explore by torchlight the critters of the dark.
Get dressed in your spooky costumes, grab a torch, and come along for a very special opportunity to see some of the nocturnal animals of Herdsman Lake - including frogs, spiders, nocturnal birds and more - at their most active, after dark!
This fun, family event will include a sausage sizzle and drink, face-painting, shadow puppets, craft activities, a talk by Arachnologist Dr Mark Harvey from the Western Australian Museum, and a guided nature night stalk around the Herdsman Lake boardwalk. Feel free to dress up for this alternative to Halloween. No tricking, but a real treat as you learn about the creatures of the night.
The event will run from 6pm to 8:30pm on Friday 29 October at the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre (Cnr Flynn & Selby Streets, Wembley).
Tickets are $16 per person or $50 per family, which includes the sausage sizzle and drink, informative talk and guided walk. Friends of the WA Gould League receive 20% off this event.
Please bring warm clothing, insect repellent, torch & closed shoes /gumboots.
