Introduction to Permaculture
WA Museum Boola BardipPerth Cultural Centre25 Francis StPerth,In partnership with the WA Museum Boola Bardip, Gaia Permaculture is delighted to offer this CBD based workshop at a reduced cost for participants.
Permaculture was created over 50 years ago in Tasmania and has reached all corners of the globe. Permaculture is an Australian accredited qualification offered in high schools and TAFE, from Certificate I through to Diploma.
Come join me, Fiona Blackham, on discovering what Permaculture is all about, what it is not, and how the underpinning ethics and principles guide the system of designing your property (large and small) to be more productive, energy efficient, produce much less waste, increase soil fertility, adopt organic approaches, reduce water use and be integrated, regenerative and sustainable both for your garden, yourself and your community.
This course will give you an insight to how a permaculture designed property differs from other approaches through maximising and working with natural energies coming into and out of your property.
Interactive and hands on with a blend of theory and practical including group and individual work, we hope this workshop offers something to everyone and show you just how broad the diverse skills of Permaculture design thinking can reach.

Gardening in a changing climate with Sabrina Hahn
AH Bracks Library431 Canning HwyMelville,This free workshop will be delivered by gardening goddess Sabrina Hahn, the host of ABC radio's gardening program Roots and Shoots. Sabrina has a passion for the creation of sustainable environments that make cities more liveable. Her aim is to educate the community on the importance of creating biodiversity in their own backyards. She believes that diminishing green spaces in urban areas provide an opportunity to return biodiversity into cities and offer people a space for physical and mental wellbeing.
Come and learn how to build climate change resilience in your garden. Sabrina will be talking about ways in which we can improve soil health; the importance of appropriate plant selection; the importance of creating upper level canopy to increase shading; ways to cope with diseases and pests; and improving irrigation design.

Hasluck Candidates Forum
Online EventWe know that Western Australians want bold action on climate. But with the 2022 Federal Election just around the corner, do you know how the parties and your local candidates stack up on climate action?
Come along and hear direct from candidates in the Hasluck Electorate presenting their party's plans to take action on climate change at our online webinar and Q&A forum on Wednesday 27 April 2022.
This event is proudly hosted by the Conservation Council of WA, Climate Action Now, Perth Hills Climate Change Interest Group (PHCCIG) and Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC).
Climate Action Now (CAN) is a national initiative by a number of climate organisations, including the Climate Action Network Australia (CANA) and the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF). Its aim is simple - to show decision makers that more and more people in Australia support more ambitious climate action.
