Biodiversity matters: Western Australia’s people & nature influencing global decisions
Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, UWASaw PromenadeCrawley,2022 Serventy Memorial Lecture with Dr Judith Fisher
Western Australia is known locally and internationally for its high levels of biodiversity, across the 26 bioregions, close to 1/3 of Australia’s lands. Not only does Western Australia have significant biodiversity, but significantly important relationships of Traditional Owners living in and maintaining these landscapes across 40,000+ years. Judy will share with you how the knowledge she has gained, and experiences over 30 years working with communities across many of WA’s natural habitats, are influencing international responses to solutions to prevent biodiversity loss and advance relationships of people with nature. We work to bring change locally and globally to enable the planet and its’ people to respond to changing climates while providing healthy biodiverse landscapes for the future.
