Learn how to transform an old t-shirt that you love or loathe into a handy shopping bag, without going near a sewing machine! You'll learn the simple skills to make these bags again and again, and take a finished bag home with you.
Please bring a used men's or women's t-shirt (not polo shirt style) or singlet with you to make your bag. If you don't have an old t-shirt hit your local op-shop and look for a design or pattern that you love.

exploring the key ways to be happier,
having a sustainable diet and;
ways to make positive changes in our lives.
If we are healthy and happy we are in a better position to make positive changes in the world - come and meet others and discover how!This is a series of 3 workshop sessions, running on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm at Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre.

Modern Cloth Nappy Workshop
City of Vincent Leederville Library99 Loftus StLeederville,The City of Vincent has teamed up with Switch Your Thinking and Kam the Cloth Nappy Guru to provide City of Vincent Residents with a subsidised Cloth Nappy Library Program.
Join us for this free, relaxed, family-friendly workshop, and learn about how to claim the subsidy and how to use modern cloth nappies from birth to toilet training.
Presented by Kam Andrews - engineer, scientist and now “The Nappy Guru” through extensive research and practical experience with her youngest in cloth nappies from birth. Kam will demonstrate different cloth nappies available and explain the benefits of each.This session will also welcome questions, answers and discussion. As well as learning from the pro you'll hear from like-minded people in your community that may have the same questions as you, or maybe great tips!
The workshop is free and open to all, however the subsidy is only available to Vincent residents, and proof of residency will be requested in order to claim the subsidy.

Pool Blanket Drop Off Day
Cambridge Administration Building1 Bold Park DriveFloreat,The Town has joined forces with Green Machines Lab to offer a solution to divert unwanted solar pool cover material [LPDE 4 grade] from landfill waste.
Roll or fold your cover, drive in, drop off and we will do the rest.
Please do not cut your cover into smaller pieces, a large roll is preferred or folded if required for transporting.
Remove and dispose of any attachment cords or ropes as well as any eyelets prior to dropping off your cover.

Cambridge Administration Building1 Bold Park DriveFloreat,Repair Lab is a community initiative to help people fix their belongings and save things going to landfill.
Skilled volunteers will help you with repairs of clothing, textiles, bikes, furniture, jewellery, electronics which run on batteries (below mains power), general household items. We'll have computer triage and advice on creating an eco-friendly home. If you're unsure, bring it down and we'll see what we can do!
Repair Lab is a free, family friendly community event for people to bring along their broken items to be fixed, with the help of our skilled volunteers.

Presenter of ABC TVs Gardening Australia, Josh Byrne will be talking about his new book The Sustainable House Handbook in this online event.The Sustainable House Handbook is your comprehensive guide to building an affordable, eco-friendly and energy- plus water-efficient green home for the future. In this book, sustainability expert and Gardening Australia presenter Josh Byrne takes readers through the process of planning a 10-Star rated high-performance home according to the Australian Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), and outlines how it is possible to build with conventional materials, in an accessible and cost-effective way.
Josh shows how to create a family home that is comfortable year-round, without the need for air conditioning or additional heating, how to integrate solar power to cover household needs, and how to reduce water usage by integrating rainwater tanks and greywater recycling systems. He also discusses how to cleverly incorporate organic food production in the garden while maintaining a highly attractive space that improves health and wellbeing.
Well known for his role as a presenter on ABC’s Gardening Australia TV program, Josh Byrne is an environmental scientist with a national profile as a consultant, researcher and communicator in urban sustainability.
Josh is also an Adjunct Research Fellow with the School of Design and the Built Environment at Curtin University where his research interests span high-performance housing, water-sensitive design and sustainable urban development. In 2018, he was awarded the Planning Institutes of Australia WA Planning Champion Award for his contribution to planning and urban sustainability.
