Swan Candidates Forum
Swan Candidates ForumOnline Event
CCWA and Climate Action Now are proud to present our Swan Candidates Forum for 2022!
We know that environmental and humanitarian issues are intertwined - pollution causes health issues and recent floods over east have cut off food supplies. But with the 2022 Federal Election just around the corner, do you know how the parties and candidates stack up on these environmental and social issues?
Come along and hear direct from candidates in the Swan Electorate presenting their party's plans to tackle environmental issues, climate change, the cost of living, affordable housing and poverty at our online webinar and Q&A forum on Wednesday 4 May 2022.
This is your opportunity to ask questions and hear first hand what all sides of politics are doing to ensure action on issues that affect both our people and the planet.
We are proudly hosting this event with the Uniting Church Australia (UCA), Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS) and Shelter WA.

Did you know that the current food system accounts for 34% of carbon emissions worldwide and, in turn, is one of the leading causes of climate change?
Join the Conservation Council of WA and Wide Open Agriculture for our first Environment Matters of 2022 – where we’ll be digging deeper into the important role food production can play in tackling climate change.
We’ll be hearing direct from our partner organisation, ASX listed Wide Open Agriculture (WOA), who are Australia’s leading regenerative food and agriculture company and owner of consumer brand Dirty Clean Food, along with a panel of leading industry experts and local farmers – this is a conversation not to be missed.
This is a free event and we’d love you to break bread with us after the presentations – literally! Light refreshments will be provided with catering by the one and only North Street Store.
This is a COVID-Safe event following the latest health advice.
Our event forms part of Perth NRM's Week of Action in the leadup to the UN International Day for Biodiversity. Find out more about how you can be part of the week here: https://www.perthnrm.com/event/week-of-action/
We respectfully acknowledge that we will be meeting on unceded Whadjuk Noongar country, and pay our deepest respects to traditional custodians and their Elders past and present. We wish to acknowledge the enduring culture and connection of First Nations people to country here in WA, and as the first agriculturalists of this land. It is a privilege to be sustained by the same country they have cared for since time immemorial.

How to navigate the big switch- Did you know Australia's 10 million households (personal vehicles, cooktops, water heaters, space heating /cooling) are responsible for ~42% of Australia’s emissions?
Individual households can have a significant impact by transitioning away from fossil fuels to cleaner, cheaper renewable energy.
This free workshop will show you how you can be part of this transition.
The workshop has been organised by the East Fremantle Climate Action Reference Group with support from the Town of East Fremantle.
