We’ll discuss the importance of reuse, and the role of community and the sharing economy in reducing waste.
We’ll cover ways that individuals can be part of the reuse revolution, and also initiatives that businesses and organisations are creating positive change.

Come pick up a bargain and rescue items from landfill – you can find everything from the weird to the wonderful. There's a great range of pre-loved treasures including furniture, clothing, homewares, sport equipment, power tools and knick knacks that have been rescued from landfill by our team. You will leave with practical tips and plenty of ideas for easy swaps or simple changes, as well as a better understanding of our food system and our part in it.
Lindsay Miles is an educator, speaker, author and passionate zero waste/plastic-free living advocate helping others live more meaningful lives with less waste and less stuff. She has been sharing ideas, tips, tricks and strategies on her website Treading My Own Path since 2013. Her first book, Less Stuff, was published in 2019 and her second, The Less Waste No Fuss Kitchen was published in June 2020. Originally from the UK, Lindsay now lives in Perth, Western Australia.

Skilled volunteers will help you with repairs of bicycles, computers, electrical appliances, household items and textiles. If you're unsure, bring it down and we'll see what we can do!

Buy Nothing Market Day presented by the Brentwood Village Town Team. Bring along your unwanted items to gift, or find a treasure to take home with you!
Neighbourhood Watch Melville promoting public safety and crime prevention products
The Rolling Bean will be providing caffeinated goodness . Please remember to bring your Keep Cup! There will be some reusable mugs on site in case you forget.
House Rules:Only one item is repaired at a time - if you have multiple items, you'll need to join the queue again. This ensures everyone gets to be seen at least once by a Repairer.
Please show your gratitude and respect for our Volunteer Repairer by staying with them for the duration of your repair - have a chat, you might learn a thing or two!
We cannot guarantee a successful repair, however our Volunteer Repairers will do their best to help you free of charge with the time, tools and skills they have available. Advice will be provided if your item is unable to be repaired.
We are unable to accommodate dogs at this event, please leave them at home. - -
