Each year in Australia we waste around 7.6 million tonnes which is equivalent to 312kg PER PERSON! This waste is estimated to cost the Australia economy $20 billion
In 2017 the Australian government set a target to halve food waste by 2030
Let me show you how you can play a role at home to help meet this target.

We’ll dispel the common myths about decluttering, along with the common excuses that hold people back, and discover that decluttering (when done right) can be good for the planet. We’ll explore local options for donating items, the second-hand economy and community reuse initiatives, letting items go responsibly and avoiding landfill. We’ll cover how to make better choices in future to keep our stuff at bay.

Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre555 Leach HwyWinthrop,Have you wondered how you can make your life more sustainable? Do you want to respond positively to issues like climate change? Do you want to meet people who care about the earth like you do?
Then Living Smart is for you!
This 4 week Living Smart course (plus an additional field trip) will inspire you to make sustainable changes in your own home with your family. The course is designed with the needs of participants in mind and includes topics such as Waste, Water, Power, Transport, Community, Gardening . . . and more.
This course will be facilitated by the team from Ecoburbia - Shani Graham and Tim Darby, the most experienced Living Smart facilitators in Australia.
Each session will run at Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre from 6.00pm to 8.30pm on the following dates. (Please note the time and date for the field trip is to be advised.)
