Your forests for life t shirt:
Or come dressed as forest flora or fauna, maybe paint a green heart on your palm….
To the President and Members of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Western Australia in Parliament assembled. We, the undersigned, support the McGowan Government’s pre-election commitments to ‘Immediately conserve High Conservation Value forests’ and ‘Move to transition the native forestry industry to sustainably managed plantations and farm forestry’ and oppose the ongoing logging and clearing of south-west forests. We respectfully request that the Legislative Council enquire into the most effective and timely means to protect High Conservation Value forests and transition the timber industry out of native forests in line with the Government’s pre-election commitments. And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.

Have you heard about Adani? Do you know what is happening over in Queensland right now – threatening our Great Barrier reef and all the jobs that come from the tourism surrounding the reef?
Why are there grandparents locking onto machines to stop coal exports?
The Adani Carmichael coal “megamine” in Queensland has been given many of the approvals it needs. With the Federal government pledging $1bn of taxpayer dollars to help Adani, they are not only going all in on coal, but fighting to kill renewables, and our hope for a safe future.
Come and join us for the latest news and info about the movement to#BlockadeAdani and where we can go from here to ensure this mine does not go ahead. If this mine goes ahead, the coal excavated will push the planet into catastrophic climate change, going over the 2 degrees of warming we have been warned about by scientists all over the world.
The local Wangan and Jagalingou people do not want this mine destroying their sacred heritage and cultures – we stand in solidarity with them.
There will be some short videos shown, a question and answer time with people who have been on the front line as well as networking with people to see what we can do from Western Australian in the fight to stop Adani.
If you are financially able – please bring a donation to send over to “Front line Action on Coal” – ever dollar helps.
Can’t wait to meet you all and build the community for a safer future 🙂
